ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christ’s Table is hosting a meeting open for everyone that wants to help the homeless.
Christ’s Table will have this collaboration meeting February 22, 2017, at 3:00 P.M. Keely Warden the Executive Director said there are a lot of people currently helping and providing, however, all the groups need to organize and provide in a more effective way.
“We think it’s time to come together for this cause,” Warden said. “I mean obviously homelessness is a problem in our community and it is a community problem. Over 65 people were identified in our resent homeless count. It’s an issue, it’s a community issue.”
Warden asks that anyone interested in helping the homeless attend the meeting and discuss new ideas or how to distribute items when the homeless need them the most.
“We want to identify what we are doing and what we’re doing well,” Warden said. “Maybe what we’re lacking and what we’re not doing and walk out at the end of the day with a plan. We’re going to need some more meetings to figure out what resources we don’t have, what resources we need, and can do with those resources to help eliminate homelessness here in this community.
Two final goals for this meeting is to provide a facility where the homeless can do their laundry and shower. They are also wanting to provide each homeless person with a piece of paper that has a list of resources. For more information contact Christ’s Table by calling (740) 452-9766.
