NEWARK, New Jersey –With a 4-1 win over the Devils the Columbus Blue Jackets have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the just the third time in team history.
The victory gives the Jackets 100 points on the year, which is the first time they have cracked the century mark. Columbus has been in the playoff three other times in team history and both times they have failed to advance past their opening series. In 2009 the Red Wings swept the Jackets. In 2014 they lost to the Penguins in six games.
The Blue Jackets have 11 regular season games left.
