ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Colony Square Mall is getting a new store this weekend; one that is ready to play some games.

Storm Castle Games will be opening Sunday, March 19th in the mall. The new store will have a gaming area with a storefront that will also sell a selection of games.

President of Storm Castle Games, Mark Miller, said he hopes the store helps gamers become more social.

“It brings a social event to what is otherwise usually a detached event, such as playing computer games at home in your basement by yourself,” said Miller. “Here, you could find a next door neighbor that you never knew was into games as you both show up at the exact same time.”

The games may not be what you have in mind. They’re not video games or traditional card games, but rather Storm Castle Games will be featuring strategic board and trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

Miller said the opening of the store has been in the making for him personally for a few decades.

“My mom reminded me when I was 16-years-old that I would set up at a flea market and I tried to sell comic books and what have you,” said Miller. “So it’s been a thirty-year dream for me to do something like this and I finally have enough legs under me I can do it.”

There is no charge to play the games, though Miller said he plans on holing tournaments that would be just a minimal fee.
