ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Zanesville Patriots organized a “Spirit of America” rally at the Muskingum County Courthouse this afternoon.
Local community members gathered in support of President Donald Trump, and discussed a variety of issues and topics that they feel are currently troubling the country and the American people.
“The Zanesville Patriots, we became an organization in February of ’09. Our first Tea Party was in April of ’09, and we had over 600 people here. So we have been active, and we continue to be active,” said Patriots President Kay Clymer.
Clymer added that many people in Washington [D.C.] are not doing their jobs and put responsibility on local officials and community members to play an active role in an attempt to improve the government at the national level.
“We’re here today because all over the country there are “Spirit of America” backing up Trump. We’re saying you are our President, we voted you in, and we expect you to do what you said you were going to do. And we’re losing our Constitution, our Constitution is not what it was, and we need to come back to that,” Clymer explained.
The Zanesville Patriots meet every third Thursday of the month at 6PM at the Helen Purcell Home. Anyone interested in joining the Zanesville Patriots or participating in events can visit their Facebook page.
