Voter Registration Deadline

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Voter Registrations is coming to a close and Early voting is starting up.

The Muskingum County Board of Elections is closing their voter registration for the May Special. Executive Director, Timothy Thompson said voter registration deadlines are always 30 days before election day.

“[April 3, 2017 is] the voter registration deadline,” Thompson said. “We’re open from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Voters can come in and register to vote. Voters can also register online at the Secretary of State’s office, if they choose to do that. Save the trip in here.”

The May Special will take place on May 2, 2017 from 6:30 A.M. until 7:30 P.M. Until then Thompson said people can always do early voting.

“This May special is a special election because there are no candidates on the ballot,” Thompson said. “We have four issues the Muskingum County Senior Center’s renewal levy, East Muskingum has a bond issue and a tax levy on there. Their’s is together. Dresden Village has a streets and roads levy and Rolling Hills has a levy on the ballot.”

April 4, 2017 is the first day of Early voting for the May Special and May 1st at 2:00 P.M. early voting will come to an end. For more information visit the Muskingum County Board of Elections website, boe.muskingumcounty.org.
