The Perry County Court is now going to be able to help drug offenders not just jail them. On Friday officials learned that the Perry County New Direction Drug Court got final certification from the Supreme Court of Ohio. The mission of the Court of Judge Dean Wilson is to improve offender’s behavior, reduce repeat offenders and diminish substance abuse dependency. The Court also expects to save the county $50,000 a year in the housing and transportation of inmates. The court will provide access to a range of alcohol and drug treatment counseling services as well as mental health counseling.
