NORTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local church is following one of their mottoes of ‘One more need Met’ by giving stuff away for free.
North Terrace Church of Christ is holding their annual ‘Free Stuff Giveaway’ on August 5, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until Noon. Volunteer Coordinator Stephanie Hill said this originally started as a back to school giveaway and through time has grown.
“We just want to meet needs of people in the community,” Hill said. “Maybe that their kids are getting ready to go back to school. I know last year we had a family that had recently had a fire, so they came in and they were able to get dishes, housewares, clothes, and things that they needed to kind of get back on their feet. That’s why we do it.”
Hill welcomes people to donate to the cause, by bringing in items they may no longer need.
“As you do spring cleaning and things like that, if you have things you don’t need anymore,” Hill said. “It can be put to good use for someone. So we decided to take one time a year, get that all together and just open it up, so that anybody in the community can come in and take what they need.”
They’ll be welcoming donations until August 4, 2017.
“We actually have a semi-trailer here on the property, so during the day you can actually bring your donations in,” Hill said. “You can go ahead and put your donations in there. If you do need assistance you can stop in here to the church office or if you have large items that you would need picked up. You can give us a call here.”
Entrance to the church property will not be permitted until 7:30 A.M. on August 5, 2017 for the ‘Free Stuff Giveaway’. For more information on donations or the actual event call the main office at (740) 453-2951.
