NEW LEXINGTON,Ohio- The Perry County Fair kicked off July 17th and the Perry County Sheriffs Office wants to remind people of tips to keep your kids safe.

The Perry County Fair brings many fun attractions and rides for children of all ages and sergeant, Derrick Keylor, said there are a few tips that can balance fun with safety.

“We certainly encourage kids to be here, to have fun, but its always wide to check in with parents occasionally. To have set times and a set designation point. Know the landmarks where you were dropped off at where your meeting points are. Those are always good tips to follow.”

In the event where a child and parent do get separated and lost Keylor says to contact a deputy.

“They can always come to the Sheriffs Office. Now in the evenings we have a deputy at any gate so if anyone becomes lost or missing or if they have an issue they can go to any gate and there will be a deputy, manning physically at that position.”

Keylor encourages everyone to keep hydrated and enjoy the fair this week.
