ZANESVILLE, Ohio- While veterans give their lives to fight for our home, one area business is now fighting for theirs.

Ables is giving two veterans, current service members, or a widow of a service member the opportunity to receive an electric or gas furnace for the upcoming winter months in their heat for our heroes campaign.

“We are trying to continue to find ways to give back to the great community that’s served us. This is our 50th year in business and so any type of way we can give back we want to. So a few years ago we started this. We did it and it was a great thing and why not keep it going. So this year we where able to do two.” said Manager, Jeremy Ables.

Of those two, one recipient will be chosen from Muskingum and one from Guernsey County and anyone interested may apply in a variety of ways.

“You can visit you can also visit our website at and you can also go to either the Legion Hall here in Zanesville Post 29 or you can visit the Legion Hall or the Veterans Service Office in Guernsey county to apply as well.”

The application deadline is October 20th and the recipients will be announced on Veterans Day, November 11th.
