NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Our final high school football player of the week award goes out to John Glenn senior running back and linebacker Shane Bonner.

Bonner closed out the regular season with over 200 yards of total offense and three rushing touchdowns in a 49-7 road win over Crooksville. With the win the Little Muskies finished the regular season with a record of 8-2.

John Glenn is now preparing for week 11 – a first round playoff matchup with Bloom-Carroll.

“We found out after our week nine win against New Lex. That’s when we found out we clinched a playoff spot. We were really excited. We hadn’t got a playoff spot since 2013,” said Bonner.

Bonner finished the year with 907 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Little Muskies will be traveling this Friday for their opening playoff game. They’ll play at Bloom-Carroll, who also finished the regular season 8-2.

“We just started watching film on them. But I know they beat us sophomore year (2015). So we’ll come out with a chip on our shoulder,” said Bonner.

Friday’s kickoff between John Glenn and Bloom-Carroll is at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on Z92 Radio.
