ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Our second to last Player of the Week award for the high school football season goes to Bishop Rosecrans junior running back Carter Dosch.
On Friday Dosch carried the ball 27 times for 218 yards and scored six rushing touchdowns as Rosecrans took down Grove City Christian 54-20. The performance also moved Dosch past 1,000 yards rushing on the season.
The win also kept BRHS alive in the playoff race. At 7-2 they’re currently in eighth place in DVII Region 27. If they win their regular-season finale at home against Fisher Catholic, then odds are they’ll be back in the playoffs for consecutive years.
“As we sit now we’re hoping to keep the season going on,” said Dosch.
This has been a special season for Rosecrans football. For the first time in school history, they’ve been able to play true “home games.” This summer construction started on a new field and bleachers right behind the high school. Meaning they no longer had to play their games at an off location site.
“It’s been nice that we don’t have to get in cars and drive down to Zanesville to play. It’s been a nice experience to get to sit in our own locker room and go out and play,” said Dosch.
