Pet of the Week: Hope

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A new furry friend is hoping to warm your heart this chilly Friday.

Say hello to Hope. She’s a domestic short-hair kitten who’s just 10 weeks old. She came into the shelter as a stray, but hopes to leave soon with a family of her own. Jody Murray, Executive Director of the Animal Shelter, said Hope is the perfect fit for any family looking to add a kitten to their home.

“She’s your typical kitten. She’s very curious about things. You know, she likes to be held for a while, but then you know, she’ll let you know when she’s ready to get down and go exploring as most little kittens do. But basically her personality, she’s a gentle cat,” said Murray.

Hope is up to date on all of her shots and she has had her surgeries. Her adoption fee is $60. And as we head into colder temps Murray wants to remind everyone to keep an eye on their pets.

“Another thing that we always encourage people with a lot of snow be sure your pet has a name tag with your phone number on it. With the snow on the ground their senses kind of get a little different in terms of things look different and smell different and that sort of thing. So the propensity of them getting lost is a little bit higher,” said Murray.

If you are interested in meeting Hope you can give the shelter a call at 740-452-1077 to set up a visit.
