ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A world touring recording artist took center stage at Secrest Auditorium.
The Zanesville Concert Association hosted Sony recording artist, Cameron Carpenter for the last day of their 79th season.
“Cameron’s on his second world tour, so we’re excited about having him here. I’ve been trying to book him since 2007. You’ll see a lot of young people in the audience because he has quite a following among young people,” said James McLaughlin of the Zanesville Concert Association.
McLaughlin said what they’re looking forward to most about Sunday’s performance is seeing the various generations represented in the audience.
“Having different generations in the audience having a ball at a concert where it won’t all be classical music, there will be popular music a part of this also. But just reinvigorating the organ world. Cameron has a real mission for this and he is a virtuoso, there is no one that plays as fine as Cameron. This organ is a one of a kind, he designed it with five keyboards,” said McLaughlin.
As the 80th season will be here before we know it, The Zanesville Concert Association already has an exciting lineup for all ages to enjoy.
