ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — The OVAC boys and girls All-Star games were held on Sunday afternoon and two area athletes participated on each side.
Cambridge’s Lilly Ritz took the floor for the Ohio team on the girls side. Ritz has had a busy off-season. She was named the East District Division II Player of the Year, and was also named first team All-Ohio. In addition to her post-season honors, Ritz was named the MVP of the District 12 All-Star game last week scoring 30 points in her team’s win.
Ritz scored 20 points and grabbed 17 rebounds yesterday as the Ohio girls downed the West Virginia All-Stars 92-75.
On the boys side, Meadowbrook’s Trey Singleton participated for team Ohio. Singleton has had a similarly busy off-season. He was also named the East District Co-Player of the Year, along with Zanesville’s Cameron Brooks-Harris. And Singleton, who helped lead the Colts to the state Final Four, also received Division II first team All-Ohio honors.
Singleton scored 23 points as the West Virginia boys edged Ohio 104-100.
Congratulations to both players on outstanding seasons and careers.
