ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Carr Center Cake Auction is just a few days away and Zane State Culinary students are preparing sweet treats for the cause.

This will be the 32nd annual Carr Cake Auction. Zane State students, as well as Chef Marco Adornetto, are preparing two large cakes and over 500 cupcakes. Adornetto said the cake auction is a delicious way for the students to give back to the community.

“Anytime you can give back to the community you should. The students really enjoy it because they get to display their cakes at the cake auction. There’s so many good cakes out there, and there’s so many great cake decorators in Zanesville, it’s tough to win. So whoever wins is pretty impressive,” said Adornetto.

Adornetto said it takes about three days to make all the different cupcakes as well as the two cakes. He said the students really get wrapped up in the cake auction excitement.

“They’re doing a great job. These are my first year students. I have my second-year students tomorrow but, they all work well together. That’s the nice thing, if they work well together, they get along, it goes real smooth,” said Adornetto.

The Carr Center Cake Auction, awarded the People Choice Awards, will take place Wednesday, April 25th from 6 to 9 P.M. The auction is Thursday April 26th  and Friday April 27th from 8:15 A.M. to 6 P.M. If you can’t make it to the auction, it will be broadcast live on AM 1240 and streamed live on
