ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local train club brought train enthusiasts to downtown Zanesville to view their unique collection.
The Zane Trace National Model Railroad Club held it’s spring open house. Club President, Brian Harrier encouraged the public to come out and see all they have to offer.
“We open up every spring and fall and let the public come up and check out our layout. Its free admission but we do accept donations which we put into buying more materials for the club layout. ” They can see multiple trains running through finished scenes that have complete scenery. We have some areas that are not scenic yet so its just plywood,” said President Harrier.
Harrier said the club has four hundred and fifty feet of mainline track for visitors to enjoy. The club is also looking to expand membership.
“Our overall goal for the open house is to showcase our layout is and potentially new members. Were always accepting new members up here and we meet every Tuesday at 7p.m. So if they couldn’t come up they can check us out on Tuesday nights too. ” If you have our own collection of trains at home you can bring them up and run them here. Some people don’t have any model trains and they just have an interest so they just come up and help on the layout as well,” said Harrier.
