A fire heavily damages a Zanesville home on Wednesday. It happened off of Wayne Avenue near the Canal. The exact address was not known. Interim Zanesville Fire Chief Doug Hobson says two separate calls came in around 1:00 about a house fire. He says when his crews arrived on the scene the home was fully involved in flames.
Hobson says the house suffered serious damage and city officials will be called to check its stability and it may have to be torn down for safety reason. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Southeast Ohio Red Cross was called to the scene to help the owner of the home with housing. The South Zanesville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
