DRESDEN, Ohio – If you would like to bid on some pottery, you’ll have the chance to this week.
McCoy Pottery will be at an action at the Koehler Auction House in Dresden on July 12th and 13th beginning at 10 a.m. They will be auctioning the first 500 items of the personal collection from the McCoy family on Thursday and the remaining pieces on Friday. Auctioneer, Jeff Koehler, said they will have a lot of different pieces ready to go.
“We have pottery here that’s for all over the board from the beginner collector right up to the high end serious collector,” said Koehler. “We have items that’s going to bring 10, 20, 30 dollars and we have pieces that’s going to bring over 10,000 dollars.”
Koehler said one of those rare pieces you’ll see is the chef’s cookie jar. He said this is the last one known to exist.
“We have an assembly of McCoy pottery here that will never ever… this is the top of the line. You will never see another better McCoy auction ever again in history. This is it,” explained Koehler.
Koehler said the auction is open to the public and all you need to do is register to bid once you arrive.
