ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local golf course was honored with a plaque Wednesday, July 11th.
The 2-174 Air Defense Artillery Retired Members Association presented Fuller’s Fairways with a plaque to show their appreciation for their support over the last twelve years. Member of the association, Roger Burnett, said they wanted to honor them for everything they have done.
“It means a lot and it’s not just about us – they always fly their flags, they put flags out for the Fourth of July, they just support the military in every way possible,” said Burnett.
According to Burnett, the only fundraiser they hold is at Fuller’s Fairways each year. All of the funds raised go back to the families of the 2-174 in McConnelsville. Employee at Fuller’s Fairways, Danny Jewell, is thankful for the recognition from the association.
“It’s a great honor. I told them I didn’t want anything, but they had to do it. It’s just an honor to support our military, our heroes,” explained Jewell.
The 2-174 Retired Members Association will be holding their 11th annual reunion in September. If you would like more information, you can call Bob Foster at 740-221-0602.
