ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The National Alliance on Mental Illness is hosting a benefit to raise awareness about mental health.
The second annual Breakout Bash will be held Saturday at The Barn from noon until midnight. President Paul Quinn said the benefit will serve as a celebration of recovery and to inform people about what type of help is out there.
“What we’re going to emphasize is if you need help, get it,” said Quinn. “Or if you know someone that you think needs help, encourage them to get it because it’s there.”
Quinn said many people suffer or will suffer from mental illness at some point in their life and it’s important to know help is out there. Quinn said the benefit go started with bands just wanting to be heard by the public.
“We kind of took that idea and said hey, why don’t you play for a cause and this will be for mental health and they said great that’s perfect cause we believe in that,” said Quinn.
Quinn said admission to the event is free there will be six different bands playing throughout the 12-hour benefit along with raffle drawings. For more information, you can visit them on Facebook.
