Now that our weather is turning colder it may have you reaching for a winter coat or hat.
But, what if you couldn’t afford to buy those winter items to keep you warm?
For the fourth year, Stratos Wealth Partners and Eastside Community Ministry have teamed up for the “Share the Warmth” cold weather drive, where you can drive thru and drop off gently new or used coats, hats, gloves and blankets.
“You see kids standing at the bus stop all the time without a coat on in the winter and you’re wondering is that just the kid walking out the door forgetting their coat that day or is it a situation where there’s a difference between do I put food on the table or pay for medicine or buy a coat or hat,” said Chad Tom partner and wealth advisor for Stratos Wealth Partners.
Eastside Community Ministry’s executive director said they help around 175 people a week at their free clothing bank.
“Last year alone we helped 15,000 people alone through our free clothing bank,” said Jamie Trout executive director of Eastside Community Ministry. “We supplied over 60,000 items to them and without the help of the community we would not have those items to supply to them.”
The cold weather drive will take place in the Colony Center parking lot in front of Mattress Mart on October, 27 from 10am until Noon.
Monetary donations will also be accepted. If you can’t make it on the 27th you can drop off donations now at Stratos Wealth Partners at 3596 Maple Avenue, Suite A.
