Shooting investigated in Hebron

HEBRON, Ohio–The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Hebron that critically injured a man.

Authorities said officers were called to the Kroger parking lot in Hebron just after 3:30 a.m. Friday  on a reported vehicle accident with injuries

When officers arrived on the scene, it was determined there was no accident, but they  did make contact with a silver vehicle parked in front of Kroger with several occupants.

Upon investigation , officers  discovered that the front seat passenger, 18-year-old Zachary Luden, had been shot.

Authorities said the shooting took place at a residence at 5501 National Rd. SE, in Hebron where they arrested 18-year-old Eric Powell and charged him with tampering with Evidence and trafficking of drugs.

Luden was transported to a Columbus hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.

The shooting remains under investigation.
