National Nursing Home week is being celebrated by Nursing Homes through out the state of Ohio. But their celebrations are muted by the threat of legislation that could cut their funding. At Adams Lane Care Center the employees that put on the special events for Nursing Home Week, are in jeopardy of losing their job is a solution isn’t found that would fix the state’s budget. Governor Taft has proposed cutting Medicaid dollars to nursing home facilities. The bill passed in the House and is now before the Senate. If adopted it could close one third of the nursing homes in the state of Ohio.
