The city of Zanesville has been collecting information for the Greenwood Avenue Revitalization Project. One goal of the project is to upgrade and provide home ownership property to low-income families, which means the city may be purchasing some of the properties that are currently there. The City wants to keep the citizens informed on every stage of the project. They are talking one-on-one with both tenants and property owners. They have also started to do inside appraisals. The city said just because they’re doing appraisals, does not mean the property is going to be purchased. They have assured owners the appraisal process is very thorough. Appraisals are not the only factor determining if the property is purchased. Location and historical relevance of the property along with topography and project funding will also help determine. If any properties are purchased, it will not be until July 2001. To receive more information and a contact person for your property call 455-0612.
