The heavy rain played a part in a fatal accident in Guernsey county on I-77. It happened on Monday afternoon.
The Cambridge Highway Patrol says a Guernsey county family was traveling north on I-77 when the father, 24-year-old James Combs lost control, went off the right side of the road and slammed into a guard rail.
Combs and his wife, Jennifer, were pronounced dead on the scene. Two children in the car were not seriously hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
