With the Memorial Holiday weekend approaching, the American Red Cross is facing a big challenge. There is a serious blood shortage. This is the time of year when blood supplies can be easily depleted and donors are hard to find. In general, people greatly underestimate the need for blood. This assumption is having an effect on Muskingum County. If the American Red Cross does not get an adequate number of blood donors lives could be lost. To help the American Red Cross recover from the shortage, you can donate blood by making an appointment at the following places: Coshocton Memorial Hospital from 1pm to 7pm on May 25th(622-0228), Coshocton County EMS/Medflight from 3PM to 8PM May 29th(622-4294), Red Cross from 10AM to 3PM May 31st(452-2731) and Pleasant Grove UMC from 2PM to 6PM May 31st(453-2627).
