The local operation feed 2001 campaign was a big success. Just two weeks ago the campaign had collected only 35 tons of food, this was 25 tons short of their original goal. But last minute efforts brought huge success and today, operation feed thanked all those who helped out. The top three companies collecting the most food were the Muskingum Letter Carriers Branch - number 63, with 11 tons of food, Genesis Healthcare System with 6.5 tons of food and the Longaberger company with 5 tons of food. Food collected will go to support 17 local food pantries and 4 hot meal programs. Christ’s Table says there’s a even greater need this year than last year for the food. Operation Feed is already beginning to prepare for next year’s 2-month campaign. They plan on doing the donut sale again with Krispy Crème and Kroger, which was one of their biggest fundraisers.
