A local Native American is starting a new tribe that helps the less fortunate. Shawandossee, the second chief of the Allegheny Indian Nation, feels his current tribe is not doing enough to help those in need, and wants to start a tribe called Shawanee Elkside Creek Nation. With the new tribe, Shawandossee hopes he can make some changes. The tribe is open to anyone for a $20 fee, or a $50 family fee. Shawandossee is making plans to right now to hold the world’s largest Powwow in Muskingum County. He hopes the powwow will spiritually unite tribes from all over. If you are interested in joining the Shawanee Elkside Creek Nation, call 982-2045.
