The Newark Rotary Club got an honor from the president of Rotary International today. President, Frank Devlyn, of Mexico, presented the Newark Club with a Presidential Citation at a luncheon today. The Newark club has increased membership by 18 this year. One goal of the International club is to increase membership from 1.2 million to 1.5 million by the year 2005 and also to eradicate polio from the world by the year 2005. And the Newark Rotary raised $15,000 to help with the polio effort. Rotarians from all over the area came to hear the International President speak about friendship and services of Rotary. TD Grilely, a Newark Rotarian, is the President'’ assistant for his entire term and travels all over the world with him.
