Residents from Duncan Falls down to Gaysport got a first glance of construction plans today that will provide public water to the areas. The first ever Muskingum County water project is a result of requests from residents in the area who have previously has to haul all their water in from other places. The proposed design stars the water line at Bridge Street in Duncan Falls and continues about a mile and a half below Gaysport. The cost of the project is $800,000. Some residents are concerned because the projected plan still doesn’t bring water to their area. The county needs 70% of residents to sign up in order for the project to be cost-effective. Design plans aren’t final as commissioners are working with area citizens who have concerns. The earliest construction would begin is this fall.
