The company that links people to their drinks held an opening ceremony at their new plant in Zanesville.
S.I USA is a Korean based company that produces more than 70 percent of the world's drinking straws. Their new location in Zanesville is one of four international plants. Other plant locations include one in Korea, one in Indonesia and one in Mexico. The Zanesville facility is the smallest plant of the four, but the campany has plans to grow. S.I. USA designed all of the equipment that makes the straws and they also invented small straws that are found on juice box drinks. The company will begin a customer test run next week for production, after the test run they will begin to hire employees and hope to be running full force within a couple of weeks.
