Muskingum County is starting to feel the trickle down effect from efforts to fix Ohio school funding problems. The state budget which was approved over the Memorial Day holiday, called for cuts in programs that benefit low income families. Effective July 1st, Job and Family Services will no longer be able to fund programs such as after school tutoring or the “Kids on Campus”. Job and Family Services will have an opportunity to obtain funds for these programs only if the state budget from the last fiscal year has a surplus in funding. This information will be available to the agency in a couple of months.
