Investigations continue today in the murder of a Zanesville man. The body of D.M. Ford was found Thursday night in his Lincoln Town car off Tunis Rd. The Sheriff’s Department said Ford was shot an unknown number of times. Detectives are searching an area about the size of an acre for clues; they say they have some evidence, but can’t release it yet. WHIZ spoke with D.M.’s mother, Mary Ford earlier today, Mary said her son was skilled in martial arts – she feels his murder was a set-up job committed by more than one person. Mary said the crime couldn’t be drug-related, because her son wasn’t involved with drugs and didn’t even drink. The search for Ford began Wednesday when his daughter called the Zanesville Police Department to file a missing person’s report after Ford didn’t show up to teach his martial arts classes. In addition to teaching martial arts, Ford was also offensive coordinator for the Muskingum Valley Cobras.
