Two separate accidents occured Monday night, just miles from each other, but one has a more deadly outcome. Just before one A.M. the Zanesville post of the Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident involving one vehicle on Gorsuch road off Route 60 North. Twenty-one year old Nicholas Whyde of Frazeysburg drove off the right side of the road striking a culvert. He overturned and then hit a ditch and finally ran into a guardrail, partially ejecting him from the truck. The vehicle came to rest on top of Whyde. Coroner, Doctor Marsh pronounced him dead on the scene. The other crash occured moments later also on Route 60 North, this time near Carnation Road. Twenty year old Michelle Spellman of Nashport was traveling north on 60 when she went left of center and struck forty year old Douglas Efaw of Zanesville. Efaw was transported to Good Samaritan were he's in the intensive care unit. Spellman remains in Bethesda.
