The businesses in Muskingum County are sending the message that they’re more cautious about the national economy now then ever before. In an economic forecast survey conducted by the chamber of commerce, twenty six percent anticipate that the national economy will get worse. That’s the highest percentage ever reported. Yet, the majority of local businesses around 90% believe that their sales and staffing levels will increase or stay the same. By these numbers the chamber can get an idea of what the local economy might do. Ninety local businesses participated in the survey, that’s conducted quarterly.
