Mattingly Foods Expands

The third generation of Mattingly Foods is continuing success and expansion. From an 8 x 10 foot freezer to a 4 million dollar addition, Mattingly Foods has become a big player in the Frozen Foods distribution industry. Reaching 19 states and serving 400 Bob Evans restaurants, 50 Wendy’s and 15 Reno’s Steakhouses, the future looks promising for the company. Mattingly Foods Vice President, Andy Hess contributes a lot of the company’s growth to dedicated employees. The turnover rate there is less than two percent, and Andy Hess claims that the company takes a lot of pride in the employees there and the work they do. He stated that with the commitment from the customers and employees alike, the company can look towards more growth in the coming years. And grow it has done. So much in just the past couple years that their freezer capacity has tripled. Only taking 3 years to plan and construct, this new additon to Mattingly Foods has been up and running for several months. A formal grand opening ceremony took place this morning where County Commissioners, and city officials were in attendance. Special guest, Congressman Bob Ney was there to assist the Mattingly family in the ribbon-cutting. An ecstatic Congressman Ney felt honored to be a representative of this area where so much growth has been taking place. He said that he was also happy to be a part of this important day for Mattingly Foods. And as for the future of this growing company, they have a definite plan to stand out. Among the new freezer addition, other improvements included an upgrade to outside lighting, a perimeter fence and eight acres of blacktop surface for truck and customer parking.
