A jury Sunday awarded neighbors of Buckeye Egg Farm about 19.7 million dollars in damages. The amount covers negligence by the State's largest egg farm and the nuisance of odors and flies caused by Buckeye Egg. Licking County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Frost says damages were awarded to each of the 21 plantiffs in amounts ranging from around 670-thousand dollars to just more than 1.2 million dollars.
Jurors heard three weeks of testimony and began deliberating
Friday. The neighbors of the Buckeye Egg Farm in Licking County sued the company last month and have complained for years about environmental problems.
