Council President Fights Cancer

Zanesville City Council President Joanne Winland has cancer. She will take a medical leave of absence while undergoing surgery for the disease. In a memo to council members
Winland said she will be undergoing surgery at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus for an unspecified malignant condition. She will be off work for six to eight weeks. Winland also told council members she expects a full recovery without additional treatment.
