State Senator Jim Carnes says that some state funding is heading to Muskingum County to help the Zanesville Nursery.
Carnes says that 13,500 dollars will be released to rehabilitate the irrigation pump at the local facility. Carnes explained that this project is part of an ongoing effort to throughly evaluate the dam and water supply to make it run more efficiently. The Zanesville State Nursery and it's sister facility in Marietta provide Ohio landowners with quality tree seedlings for conservation and re-forestation projects. Together they produce more than 5-million seedlings each year.
