In response to the VFW Post 1058’s distribution of flags last week, the children of Rufus Elementary wanted to send the veterans a big thank you. And the second grade class decided that an American Flag made out of their handprints would be the best way. The second graders presented the flag to the Commander of the VFW. The veterans said they were proud to see teachers teaching students to be patriotic. The entire second grade class of Rufus recited the Pledge of Allegiance while presenting the hand print flag to the VFW.
