Patriotism has been rising above terrorism and the general concept is to stand proud and in support of our government. Most of the community tuned in Thursday night as President Bush addressed the nation. After talking with some Licking County residents we found that the majority were in support of the government’s most recent decisions. Corporate Cliff Bigler, of the Utica Police Department said that as long as our forces can do what Bush says, then he feels that everything will be fine. His first reaction on the attacks was astonishment. He asked the question of how could something like this happen in our country and now he says, it is time to go and take care of business. Mary Wills of Heath feels more confident now because Colin Powell is standing beside President Bush. In the past couple of weeks we have seen our country come together and stand as one. Patriotism is rising above terrorism and the general concept among most Americans is to stand proud and in support of our President. Although in support of the President many people feel that the government has been too easy on the terrorists for too long, and because of this it will now be a much more difficult battle for us to fight terrorism.
