Bags have been packed, supplies loaded and now the local reservists of the 447th Military Police Unit of Zanesville are enjoying their last few hours with their families before the send-off tomorrow. Emotions are running high among the members of the community in regards to news of the recent deployment and a send off celebration is planned for the big day where families and friends can come and see their loved ones before they leave for Fort Lenard Wood in Missouri. There was a briefing by the local chapter of the Red Cross today to provide the reservists and their families with information on communicating with loved ones during the time the soldiers will be away from their families. There are 117 reservists in the company that are being deployed tomorrow and they expressed feelings of eagerness and excitement to serve their country. The Mayor of Zanesville, County Commissioners, U.S. Congressman who represents our district and also some City Council Members will be present to send the soldiers off. The entire community is welcome to come out tomorrow at the Army Reserve Center on Moxahala and join the families in saying farewell to our local heroes.
