The recent anthrax scares are quickly spreading and are continuing to keep people on edge. The main question that many people are asking is: How can I be affected by this? After asking some local residents how they felt about the safety and security of their community, despite recent anthrax scares in the country. Overall their concerns lie more with larger cities that could be affected and keeping a positive attitude. Many local residents are saying they feel safe and are not worrying too much about this affecting them or their community. Safety doesn’t seem to be an issue in the community at the moment, however how prepared the are law enforcement and officials are for the possible onset of bio-terrorism is another question. Being alert, aware and responsible is the role that many are taking for their own lives. Rather than living in fear, local residents are just simply taking better care for themselves and are paying attention to their surroundings. Officials stress that awareness and caution are the keys to staying safe. So far there have been two anthrax scares reported in Licking County that took place yesterday, and one that occurred earlier today in Guernsey County.
