The grand state of Ohio will be celebrating her 200th birthday in the year of 2003. To honor the two time centurian that received her statehood back in 1803, Verdin of Cincinnatti, a bell making company, has designed a Bicentennial Bell. Every county in Ohio will get one bicentennial bell, emblazoned with the state and bicentennial logos, the forging date and the county name. The bells which weigh approximately 250-pounds will cost taxpayers about 20-thousand dollars each. As of now, the county commissioners have not decided on how the bell for Muskingum County will be funded.
