Acts of appreciation and respect, as well as having a kind heart are the lessons students are learning at McIntire Elementary School. With the help of the PTO and the school’s Student Council officers they raised over $1,700. The students sold over 1,000 patriotic badges for a dollar a piece. All of the profits are going to the families of the lost firefighters of New York City.
Doing a positive thing for those affected by the recent tragedy was important to many of the students, especially the leaders in the school, the student council members. A local firefighter came later to the school today to accept the check. There are 200 badges that are available to anyone who wants to buy one. The badges can be purchased at McIntire School.
