Up until now not much has dampened the general public’s eagerness to travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. That is based on a brand new survey done by Triple A in which a prediction has been made that holiday travel will drop only by six percent compared to last year, however recent events that occurred earlier this morning may now alter figures somewhat. Many people have been planning to travel by car, and Triple A is saying that over 87 percent of the people in this country will be traveling by car. There are 34.6 million Americans who are planning to travel 50 miles or more away from home this year and that is the highest number of expected travelers by automobile that Triple A has ever recorded. Without a significant fluctuation in gas prices for over a month now, local filling stations are hoping that area travelers will continue on with their holiday traveling plans.
