There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a child’s eyes light up as they open their holiday gifts. To make every child’s Christmas wish come true, The Salvation Army has set up “The Angel Tree” where local community members can purchase gifts for the needy children in our area. This year the Salvation Army is hoping to help about 2,000 children from Morgan, Muskingum and Perry counties. The Salvation Army has set up The Angel Tree for about 15 years and like years past, the location for the tree will be at The Colony Square Mall near Radio Shack and Walden Book Store. Each year the Salvation Army holds The Angel Tree kick-off the day after Thanksgiving is celebrated to get the community in the spirit of giving for the holidays. The Angel Tree is one of the many holiday services that the local Salvation Army provides, they will also be giving out Christmas food baskets again this year.
