It’s always important to recognize those who have set a good example for others. At Wilson Elementary School students were honored for their exemplary behavior, and it gave them the opportunity to share a morning breakfast with their parents as well. The program began nine to ten years ago, to honor students who were doing positive things in the school. The B.U.G. and F.R.O.G. programs are based on being good and setting positive examples for other students. To provide a motivational message for students and their parents, a guest speaker is invited in each month to address a topic and get a picture taken with each child. WHIZ’s Courtney Coleman was the guest speaker this month. Students throughout the entire school also had the privilege of participating in a power safety program put together by AEP. Louie the Lightning Bug was on hand to discuss playing it safe around power lines.
