The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office has been working meticulously to find answers in the death of one of Zanesville's most well known residents. Earlier this year, DM Ford Sr. was found shot to death in a wildlife area off of Tunis Road in Muskingum Township. 43-year old Ford was reported missing on July 12th by family members after they could not reach him for several days. The following day, his body was found in the secluded area by a nearby resident. Ever since Ford's death, local law enforcement officials have been working hard to find out who is responsible. It has almost been six months since the shooting and in a recent article done by the Times Recorder, a family member is calling for closure. But many factors in the investigation calls for a lenghty process. Also, the Sheriff's Department had to process a lot of evidence from the crime scene and deal with rumors such as the one that linked Ford to criminal activity. Those obstacles have made the case very complicated, but the department feels that they are heading in the right direction. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office has also consulted the FBI and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Ohio Attorney General's Office to confirm that they are on the right track.
