Byesville Man Enters Insanity Plea

A man accused of killing his mother and wounding his father because their gun cabinet was too crowded has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. 33-year old David W. Mallett of Byesville, entered the plea this past Thursday in Guernsey County Common Pleas Court. He was indicted last week in the October 12 shooting at his parent's home in Cambridge. Mallet who is being charged wiht one count of aggravated murder, murder, attempted aggravated murder and attempted murder faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
